Luncheon-Talk (French language) Les abîmes du procès de Nuremberg

Our guest speaker, Alfred de MONTESQUIOU, born in 1978, is a French journalist and author. A Sciences Po graduate, Alfred de Montesquiou also earned a Master’s degree from the Columbia Journalism School. He worked for many years as a war correspondent for the Associated Press, and in 2010 became a senior reporter for Paris Match. He currently produces Les Envahisseurs for France Culture and teaches reporting at Sciences Po.
Alfred de Montesquiou has received several prestigious awards, including the Prix Albert Londres (2012), and recently the Prix Renaudot de l’Essai for his latest book on the Nuremberg Trial, Le Crépuscule des hommes. Alfred de Montesquiou will speak about the trial, a turning point that would later shape the international criminal justice system, as seen through the eyes of leading figures of the international press—particularly British correspondants—and as described in his book, where passion, cynicism, realpolitiks, and hope are intertwined.

Paris Choral Society

Poulenc (Stabat Mater), Brahms & Boulanger Choral Concert

The STABAT MATER is POULENC’s first choral work with orchestra. The work was created in memory of a friend, the painter Christian Bérard. The composer chose the Stabat Mater instead of the Requiem, because the heart-rending text seemed suited to dedicate the soul of his friend to the holy Virgin of Rocamadour, to whom Poulenc attributed his return to Catholicism.
A soprano soloist, mixed choir and orchestra are the forces of this splendid work, which in colouring, variety and intensity is exceptional. Brahms’s Schicksalslied and works by Lili Boulanger will complete the program.
Direction: Lewis Hammond, Mohamed Barouni : Soprano: Bethany Clearfield : Orchestra: Ensemble Pluralis : Choir: The Paris Choral Society
Venue:
The American Cathedral in Paris, 23, avenue George V, 75008 Paris
Date and time:
June 11, 2026 8:00 PM
Ticket price:
Advance 22€ : On the door 25€ : Student 10€
