The Franco-British Chamber of Commerce and Industry
Since 1873, the Franco-British Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) with around 700 members has been the principal voice and representative body for the Franco-British business community in France. The Association of British Accountants in France
Of the 830 members of the various British and Irish Institutes of accountants registered as resident in France (active and retired), some 150 are members of ABAF. The Association holds a number of technical and social meetings during the year which are open to members and guests.

CIMA France
CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) was formed in 1919, and has grown to become one of the largest international accountancy bodies, representing, in 2007, 158,000 students and 70,000 members in 161 countries. Recently, development has been concentrated in emerging countries, particularly China and Eastern Europe. In France, there are approximately 350 members and students – the largest base being in the Paris area.
The Committee comprises volunteers from the membership. Its purpose is to promote the interests of the members and our profession, establish and maintain links with the Employer base and other accounting organisations, and to provide a point of contact with CIMA in London.

The Institution of Civil Engineers
The ICE French Local Association (loi 1901) serves the 179 Members of the Institution in France by organising technical and social events.
About six events are held annually including lectures and visits to the major construction projects throughout France. In addition, annual European weekend conferences enable Members to meet colleagues from across Europe in other countries.
The ICE has reciprocal meeting arrangements with the French sections of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE). For an engineer wishing to keep informed about technical and business developments in Europe, the ICE Local Association meetings are an excellent contact point. The meetings are open to all, publicised by regular newsletters and are usually free.

The Institution of Engineering and Technology
The Institution of Engineering and Technology is the new name as from March 2006 of the Institution of Electrical Engineers which was founded in 1871 and represents some 150,000 professional electrical engineers in 127 countries around the world. As well as publishing books, periodicals and other online information, it organises events such as conferences and colloquia and participates in a number of authoritative activities such as the setting of international standards.

The Institute of Directors, France
The IoD aims to be the prime organisation helping directors to fulfil their leadership responsibilities in creating wealth for the benefit of business and society as a whole.
To achieve these aims, the IoD has the following objectives:

The Institution of Mechanical Engineers
The British Institution of Mechanical Engineers counts 300 members in France of its 77,000 worldwide membership.
The role of the Institution is to educate, train and professionally develop mechanical engineers while increasing public awareness of the benefits of engineering.
Members work in a variety of industries and services, both in technical and managerial functions. ImechE – Groupe France is an association subject to the French 1901 law on Associations and holds five or six technical talks and social functions annually, typically in Paris, Lyon, Grenoble and Toulouse.
